This Cookie Policy explains how NextMariner ApS ("NextMariner", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our website and platform at www.nextmariner.com and associated domains (the "Services"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data more generally and describes your rights.

By using the Services you agree to our use of strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the Services to function. Non-essential cookies, such as analytics cookies, are used only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time (see Section 6).

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.

• First-party cookies are set by NextMariner.
• Third-party cookies are set by another organisation, for example a security provider or an embedded-content provider.
• Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain for a set period.

We also use similar technologies that are not strictly cookies:

• Local storage and session storage, which hold small amounts of data in your browser, for example to remember a display preference or your scroll position.
• A service worker, which enables progressive-web-app features such as faster loading.
• Web push subscriptions, created only if you grant browser notification permission, so that we can send you notifications.
• Pixels and web beacons, which may be used in emails to understand whether a message was opened.

Where any of these technologies store or access information on your device, we treat them under the same consent rules as cookies.

Strictly necessary (always active). These are required to provide the Services and stay active at all times. They include authentication and session cookies that keep you securely signed in, a cookie that records your cookie-consent choice, and security cookies that protect against fraud and automated abuse. These do not require consent.

Functional and preferences (active). These remember choices you make, such as your language, to give you a better experience. They are first-party and contain no tracking identifiers.

Analytics and performance (consent only). These help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. We operate privacy-preserving, first-party analytics: for signed-out visitors an anonymous identifier is used, and where we process your IP address and browser type on the server we store them only as irreversible, salted, hashed values, never in raw form. These cookies are set only after you grant consent.

Security and bot-protection (as required). When you register or reset your password, we may present a bot-protection challenge that sets short-lived cookies to distinguish humans from automated bots.

Embedded content (third-party). Some posts and messages embed media from third parties, for example YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, SoundCloud or Twitch. When such content is displayed, the provider may set its own cookies, governed by that provider's cookie and privacy policy.

For security, your access token is also kept in memory only during a session and is not stored in local storage.

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a secure, functioning service and, where applicable, the strictly necessary exemption under the ePrivacy rules; they do not require consent.

Analytics cookies and other non-essential cookies and technologies are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy consent requirement). You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

Consent banner. When required, we show a consent banner so you can accept or decline non-essential analytics cookies. We do not set analytics cookies or track you until you have granted consent.

Privacy settings. If you have an account, you can change your analytics choice at any time under Settings, then Privacy. Withdrawing analytics consent clears the anonymous analytics identifier from your browser.

Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using core features.

Third-party opt-outs. Cookies set by embedded-content providers are controlled by those providers; see their respective cookie and privacy policies to manage them.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for legal reasons. We will post the updated version here and update the effective date. Where required, we will seek renewed consent.
